If you are not using the Minim app, you will need to manually set up your Motorola WiFi system. The instructions below will walk you through the manual setup for configuring an MH7022 router.

What you will need

• MH7022 router
• MH7022 satellite
• Modem or incoming internet connection
• Ethernet cable
• Two power adapters

Getting started

Take the MH7022 unit labeled Router and place it close to your cable modem, DSL modem, fiber optic modem, or an in-building Ethernet network used for internet access.

Reboot your modem

If you are using a modem, you'll need to restart it before connecting to your router. Unplug your modem from the power outlet but leave the modem connected to the wall jack for your internet service. If your modem uses a backup battery, remove and reinsert the battery. Wait at least 30 seconds before plugging the modem back in. Allow the device a few minutes to power back on.

Connect your router to your modem

Don’t plug your router’s power cable in just yet. Instead, connect the router to the internet by plugging the included Ethernet cable between the WAN/LAN port on the MH7022 unit marked Router and the LAN port of your modem or the Ethernet jack of your in-building network.

Powering up

Now, connect the supplied power adapter between the router’s power jack and an electrical outlet. The Motorola logo LED on the front of the router should be blinking green while the unit powers up.

If the LED is not blinking green, check that the On/Off button on the back panel is pushed in. Wait for the LED to become solid green. This may take up to 2 minutes. If the router's LED does not stop blinking, please review this troubleshooting guide.

Congratulations!

You've successfully set up your new MH7022 router. The default wireless network name and password are found on the label located on the back of your unit as shown below:

If you wish to change these defaults, you can do so in the Minim app.
