Each service provider or employer has its own method of onboarding subscribers or employees. To help with developing your workflow, we've outlined two suggested methods to get end-users set up with the Minim solution using the Care Portal and the Minim App.
Onboarding using the Care Portal
Step 1: Install the Minim solution on a certified device.
If the device does not have the Minim solution install on it, you can follow one of the below guides to get started.
If you are using another device and need assistance installing the Minim solution onto it, please contact our Customer Success team using the chat or by sending an email to support@minim.com. We'd be happy to help!
Step 2: Add the ether1 MAC to your inventory.
Please note, if you purchased your devices directly from Minim, the MAC addresses will be automatically added to your inventory prior to shipping.
Step 3: Enable the LAN and enter the end-user's info.
Here is a guide on how to enable a LAN. You can take this time to set up the LAN to your liking.
(Please note, if you do not enter any information in the fields provided, the LAN will be activated under the ether1 MAC by default).

Step 4: Set up mesh on the network to provide additional wireless coverage.
GL.iNet (ZM.1), MikroTik, and Motorola routers have the capability to be connected wirelessly using mesh. Below are some guides to each of these hardware types set up.
-
-
- GL.iNet B1300 (ZM.1)
- MikroTik - wireless mesh and hardwired extenders
- Motorola MH7022 - Skip to step 4 of the guide to learn how.
-
If you run into any issues with configuring a meshed network, please contact our Customer Success team using the chat or by sending an email to support@minim.com. We'd be happy to help!
Step 5: Mobile access for the customer, or end-user.
There are two ways to grant an end-user with access to the Minim App so they can view their new network and manage it.
Please note, the end-user will need to create a Minim account when using the mobile app for the first time regardless of method.
- Invite using the Care Portal
This process will instantly associate the end-user's email address with the LAN. - Download the Minim App and create an account
This process will require the end-user to follow the prompts on the app to associate their email address with the LAN. They may be asked to connect to the WiFi of the new router to complete the process.
Onboarding using the Minim App
Sometimes it is easier to provide the router(s) to the end-user for them to set up. We have seen this be the case especially for service providers who have employees working from home. We've included helpful workflows within the Minim App to help the end-user create a LAN for their router(s) and create an account for the app.
To begin, we recommend following this guide. It will provide links to download the app within the store for your mobile device.
Below are hardware-specific guides to get end-users started.
-
-
- GL.iNet B1300 (ZM.1) - Router & Access Points (or extenders)
- Motorola MH7022 - Router & Satellite
-
TIP: If the mobile user will be setting up a MikroTik router, they will not need to scan a QR code. Instead, they tap the No button. The app will direct them to connect to the wifi of the unit to continue the setup workflow.

To help end-users become more familiar with the Minim App, we have a collection of articles and guides that explain how the app works and the features within it.
