This process will guide you through installing a factory Asus AC1700 RT-ARCH17 with Minim as a stand alone LAN.
The steps are generally:
Download firmware
Navigate to https://releases.minim.co/release_server/releases/stable/active/asus_map_ac1700. The page will display some text. Copy the URL included on the page and paste it into the URL field of your browser. A .bin file called factory_image_vxx.xx.xx.xx should automatically download onto your computer.
If you experience any difficulties with downloading this file, please reach out to our Customer Success team using the chat or emailing support@minim.com.
Install firmware onto Router
Connect a laptop's ethernet port to the device's LAN port. Navigate to http://192.168.50.1 and choose manual setting. You will have to enter a different password (admin/password). Choose direct connection, automatic IP, and click apply for the default wireless settings. Then click complete. Then click Administration on the sidebar and then firmware upgrade with factory_image_vxx.xx.xx.xx.bin. The router will then upgrade itself to Minim over three minutes. You can tell if this is successful by viewing the firmware version (mine was Firmware Version:3.0.0.4.380_0. Unum: 2.0.0.32)
Before you close out, copy the "LAN MAC address" which is visible in the main network panel on the left hand side.
Add Router to Minim
Navigate to the Inventory page of your Care Portal account. Click the Add inventory button located on the right side of the page. A pop-up will appear with a large text field. Enter the MAC address of the router into this field. Click the Create button when finished.
Please note, you can add multiple MAC addresses to your inventory at one time. To learn more about enabling routers, refer to this guide.
