DISCLAIMER: This guide is to only be used when a GL.iNet (ZM.1) is purchased outside of Minim.
The GL.iNet B1300 (ZM.1) can be purchased directly from the Minim Shop. These routers will be shipped pre-configured with the Minim firmware installed. To learn about how to enable these units in the Care Portal, please refer to this article.
Customers also have the option to purchase the GL.iNets (ZM.1) from other vendors. If they decide to pursue this option, the purchased GL.iNet (ZM.1) routers will need to have the Minim firmware installed onto them.

Install firmware onto router
1. Connect an ethernet cable from your computer to one of the LAN ports of the GL.iNet (ZM.1)(ports with the arrows underneath it).
2. Push down and hold the reset button (the left outermost button on your GL.iNet (ZM.1), pictured below).
3. Next, plug the power cable into the router (continue holding the reset button).
4. Wait about 10 seconds, until the 2 left outermost (left and middle) LEDs stop flashing.
5. Release the reset button.
6. Next, configure the IP address of your computer with the following settings:
IP configuration on Mac
IP configuration on Windows
7. Plug an ethernet cable into one of the LAN ports of the GL.iNet (ZM.1) and into your computer. In a browser window, navigate to 192.168.1.1. The bootloader webUI should appear.
If this does not appear, start with unplugging the router's ethernet cable and plug back in. If the page still does not appear, follow steps 1 through 5 again.
8. From the bootloader, click on the Choose file button. Select the firmware file previously downloaded.
9. Click the Update button. The browser will update to show "UPDATE IN PR". It should take up to 5 minutes for the installation process to complete. You will know the process has completed when the LED on the left and right sides are lit. You may see the center light flicker.
10. Unplug the ethernet cable between the GL.iNet (ZM.1) and your computer.
11. Reconfigure your computer to return to the previous IP address settings. This would be DHCP or your preferred settings.

Add router to Care Portal
Navigate to the Inventory page of your Care Portal account. Click the Add inventory button located on the right side of the page. A pop-up will appear with a large text field. Enter the MAC address of the router into this field. Click the Create button when finished.
Please note, you can add multiple MAC addresses to your inventory at one time. To learn more about enabling routers, refer to this guide.
The newly added router(s) should appear in your inventory list. To bring the router online, plug an incoming internet connection into the WAN port (look for the globe). Within 3 minutes, you should see the unit come online in the Care Portal, either while assigned to a LAN or from within the Inventory.
If you experience any difficulties with this process, please reach out to our Customer Success team using the chat or emailing support@minim.com.
